Last Stop on the Blog Hop!

Hi folks, thanks for stopping by on the last stop of the Meet Maritime Modern Blog Hop! I hope you've checked out all of my guild-mates blogs as well.

Eric and I on our honeymoon in Disneyworld.

I live in Dartmouth, NS with my husband and a menagerie of pets. Accountant by day, I like to build my patterns in excel which works out well since they're mostly pixel quilts. I've been quilting for about 5 years or so. Before that, I've tried lots of other crafty-things including knitting and stained glass but I have never stuck with anything as long as this.

Here are a few of my finished projects:

My first finish! I recently added more panels to this as my nephew apparently has grown.

As you can see, my work tends to be mainly pop culture inspired. The Sheldon Quilt and Captain Picard quilt have gotten a ton of attention online and I just sold off the Duck Hunt one. Krusty has a sacred place on the couch with Eric.

Hope you have enjoyed my stop and don't forget to check out the other quilters if you haven't already!

  5. Unreal-I hadn't seen the captain one before. Seriously, have any of Sheldon's "people" or the Captain's seen these quilts??? The shadowing on the face is amazing-they should be giving you a huge shout out on twitter!

  6. Well before I ever met you in person (have I ever told you about my moment at the Halifax Crafter's Society?), I have admired your work, Aimee. I know they're just what you do (to you!), but they are simply amazing to the rest of us! And that's why you're the perfect final stop on our hop. Thanks for participating!

  25. If you decide to ever embark on a sweater project (there are some out there that are moderately easy) it would be a good idea to try it in super bulky yarn first, even if the pattern doesn't call for it. You can knit the sweater in a weekend using super bulky yarn and some large needles. If you are not super skinny the sweater might not look great on you, bianca garn
